Está aberta a fase de candidaturas para a call direcionada a investigadores em início de carreira (EM/2021/19) para participação na avaliação temática das interligações entre biodiversidade, água, alimentação e saúde (avaliação do nexo) e para avaliação temática das causas subjacentes da perda de biodiversidade, determinantes de uma mudança transformadora e opções para alcançar a Visão de 2050 para a biodiversidade (avaliação de mudanças transformadoras).

A call para experts foi lançada a 19 de julho de 2021 (EM/2021/17).

O perfil de candidaturas deverá ser o seguinte:

• Investigadores em início de carreira, com não mais de 35 anos de idades (indicativo) e, de preferência, entre 5-7 anos após conclusão do grau académico;
• Experiência multidisciplinar ou interdisciplinar, com especialização em uma ou mais disciplinas de ciências naturais, ciências sociais ou humanidades, ser um especialista em conhecimento indígena e local ou ter experiência em áreas indígenas e sistemas de conhecimento local. Antecedentes científicos relevantes são indicados na convocação para nomeação;
• Compromissos – deve garantir que:
  • Consegue comprometer-se com 15% do seu tempo no período de avaliação;
  • Discutiu a sua inscrição e aprovação com a sua instituição antes de se inscrever; e
  • Estar disponível para participar nas reuniões de avaliação da candidatura para a qual se está a inscrever.

Os interessados devem entrar em contato com o seu Ponto Focal Nacional do IPBES (https://www.ipbes.net/national-focal-points), com uma expressão de interesse em participar na referida call e solicitar a indicação por parte destes, e devem preencher o formulário de candidatura no portal web dedicado para o efeito (é necessário ter conta de perfil no IPBES) até 20 de setembro de 2021, anexando o seu curriculum vitae:

• A call para receber a unidade de apoio técnico para a avaliação de mudança transformadora do IPBES (EM /2021/15) encerra no dia 31 de agosto de 2021. • A anteriormente mencionada call para nomeação de especialistas para participar na avaliação temática das interligações entre biodiversidade, água, alimentos e saúde (avaliação do nexo) e a avaliação temática das causas subjacentes da perda de biodiversidade e os determinantes da mudança transformadora e opções para alcançar a Visão 2050 para a Biodiversidade (avaliação de mudanças transformadoras): Os especialistas interessados são convidados a participar até 6 de setembro de 2021. • Call para candidaturas para o Comité IPBES sobre Conflitos de Interesse do Grupo Ásia-Pacífico: Os membros da IPBES da região Ásia-Pacífico são convidados a enviar candidaturas até 30 de setembro de 2021 (EM/2021/18). As candidaturas devem ser feitas preenchendo o formulário de candidatura em https://ipbes.net/nomination-coi-2021, incluindo o envio de um curriculum vitae do candidato. As nomeações antecipadas antes do prazo são incentivadas.

The call for nomination of fellows for the IPBES nexus and transformative assessments is out (EM/2021/19), to participate in the thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment) and the thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (transformative change assessment).

The call for experts was launched on 19 July 2021 (EM/2021/17). 

Become an IPBES fellow!

The application profile is as follows:

• An early-career individual, indicatively not older than 35 years of age and preferably not more than 5-7 years after having completed your academic degree;
• Have multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary expertise, expertise in one or more disciplines of natural science, social science or the humanities, be an indigenous and local knowledge expert or have expertise in indigenous and local knowledge systems. Relevant scientific backgrounds are indicated in the call for nomination of fellows.;
• Commitments – You should ensure that you:
  • Are able to make a commitment of 15 % of your time in the assessment period;
  • Have discussed your application and have it approved by your organization/institution before applying; and
  • Are available to attend the author meetings of the assessment you are applying for.

Contact your organisation and/or the IPBES national focal point in your country to express your interest to become a fellow in the IPBES fellowship
programme and ask them to be your nominator, and fill out the application form and attach your curriculum vitae through the dedicated web portal (you need to have a user account on the IPBES website) until 20 September 2021.

The results of the nominations will be available on 27 September, 2021.

• The call for offers to host the technical support unit for the IPBES transformative change assessment (EM/2021/15) closes on 31 August 2021. Interested Governments or organizations are invited to submit their offer prepared according to the template provided here and to attach the filled out application form provided here to the secretariat at secretariat@ipbes.net;
• Call for nomination of experts to participate in the thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment) and the thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity (transformative change assessment): Interested experts are invited to submit applications by 6 September2021; nominators (Governments or organizations) are invited to submit their nominations by 13 September 2021. • Call for nominations all for the IPBES Committee on Conflicts of Interest from the Asia-Pacific Group: IPBES members from the Asia-Pacific region are invited to submit nominations by 30 September 2021 (EM/2021/18). Nominations should be made by completing the nomination form at https://ipbes.net/nomination-coi-2021, including the submission of a curriculum vitae of the nominee. Early nominations ahead of the deadline are encouraged.
